Animal Services

The Angleton Animal Services Adoption Center is located at 535 South Anderson. It is open to the public Monday through Friday from 10 am to 5 pm. Please contact Animal Services at 979-848-5696 for staff availability.

Pet Adoption Program

Angleton Animal Services Adoption Center has a pet adoption program, offering a nice selection of small, medium and large dogs, plus a variety of cats and kittens for adoption into good homes. To make the adoption process more efficient, download the relevant application form. Please click here for the dog form or here for the cat form. In accordance with Texas State law, all animals adopted from Animal Control must be spayed or neutered and given all required shots and vaccinations.

Volunteering

If you would like to volunteer to work at Angleton Animal Services Adoption Center, please complete our Volunteer Application (PDF) and submit it to the office at 535 S. Anderson Street or Angleton Police Department dispatch.

Animal Advisory Committee

(1) Position one shall be filled by a veterinarian - Dr. Rachel Becker
(2) Position two shall be filled by a municipal or county official - City Manager
(3) Position three shall be filled by a person whose duties include the daily operation of an "animal shelter" as that term is defined in § 823.001 of the Health and Safety Code - Brenda Majors
(4) Position four shall be filled by a person who is an officer or employee of an animal welfare organization - Marissa Martinez
(5) Position five shall be filled by a resident of the city - Janie Schwartz-Shaw
(6) Position six shall be filled by a resident of the city - Andrew Heston
(7) Position seven shall be filled by a resident of the city - Erin Boren

Overview

The committee shall perform the state law advisory committee functions contemplated in §823.005 of the Health and Safety Code by rendering advice and assistance to the director regarding the city's compliance with the requirements of chapter 823 of the Health and Safety Code.
